This continuous body of work investigates the memory of place through paintings of interior spaces, cityscapes and landscapes.  Layers of the urban environment break apart, leaving remnants and traces of patterns and pathways. Through the combination of multiple perspectives, aerial views, and topography, new unfamiliar landscapes are formed, while referencing maps and locations both real and imagined. Remembered observations in nature such as cast shadows of foliage in the woods, the sound of leaves beneath one's feet, the cold dampness of rocks, the breeze atop a mountain, all become moments for a visual translation of the experience and allow for opportunities of mark-making within the paintings. The atmospheric nature of the abstracted memories give the paintings a dream-like quality, suggesting a parallel universe.
